At Care-Tech Solutions, we harness advanced technologies to deliver reliable, life-saving solutions for seniors. Our systems are built on the following innovative components:

Fall Detection Algorithms

Threshold-Based Method: Employs predefined thresholds for motion and impact data to detect falls accurately. By analyzing sudden changes in acceleration and orientation, this method ensures rapid identification of potential fall incidents.

3D Accelerometer Data: Captures multi-axis movement patterns to analyze body dynamics in three dimensions. This enables precise detection of falls by monitoring abrupt changes in position, velocity, and impact, tailored to seniors’ movement patterns.

Machine Learning (ML)-Based Algorithm: Utilizes advanced ML models trained on extensive datasets of fall and non-fall activities. These models continuously learn to distinguish between normal movements (e.g., sitting or walking) and fall events, reducing false positives and improving detection accuracy over time.

Fall Model: Our proprietary fall model integrates data from 3D accelerometers, gyroscopes, and ML algorithms to create a robust framework for fall detection. The model analyzes real-time motion data against a comprehensive database of fall patterns, accounting for variables such as fall direction, impact force, and post-fall immobility. By combining threshold-based triggers with ML-driven pattern recognition, our fall model achieves high sensitivity and specificity, ensuring reliable detection across diverse scenarios, from slips to collapses, while minimizing false alarms.

The AI model is trained with the empirical databank, which is obtained from the experiment performed by our team in collaboration with Dr. C.P. Chau's group in the SPEED of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The purpose is to find a sustainable way to simulate the fall patterns when seniors fall, which triggers the key performance indexes such as position, height, velocity, acceleration, pressure, rotation, and vibration to change sharply.

Positioning Technologies

GPS: Provides precise outdoor location tracking, enabling caregivers to locate seniors quickly in open environments, such as parks or streets.

Indoor Positioning System (IPS): Utilizes beacon-based technology and Wi-Fi signals to deliver accurate indoor location tracking, ensuring seniors can be found in complex environments like homes, hospitals, or care facilities.

Our technology combines sophisticated algorithms, a robust fall model, and precise positioning systems to deliver unparalleled safety and reliability for seniors and their caregivers.
